The Normative Risk Lab is an independent research body, and it aims to study normative risks, in its theoretical, definitional, and practical dimensions; and to address strategies to attenuate it, both at a macro and at a micro level.
Studying normative risk consists in analysing (i) how existing or proposed norms engender or fail to prevent future catastrophic events or existential risks; (ii) how actions, policies, or plans might result in bad outcomes.
The Lab also studies concrete cases from industry or public policy especially related to AI Risk and Safety.
